Environment Awareness Program in Haveri District Schools

Our NGO is conducting an extensive Environment Awareness Program across all schools in Haveri district. This initiative aims to educate students about the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable practices. Through interactive sessions, we are fostering a sense of responsibility among young minds to protect and preserve nature. The program covers topics such as waste management, water conservation, and the significance of planting trees. Our goal is to empower the next generation with the knowledge and tools to build a greener future.

Bird Community's Contribution to the Environment Program: A Bird's Eye View

In collaboration with the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, Bengaluru, Shri Shivachidambara Education and Rural Development Institute (Regd.) from Shirol village in Naragund Taluk, Gadag District, organized an awareness program titled "Bird Community's Contribution to the Environment." The program was conducted across 25 primary and high schools in the districts of Gadag, Dharwad, Haveri, and Belagavi. Approximately 2500 students from these districts benefited from the program.
The program highlighted the importance of birds and their way of life through videos. Additionally, various bird-related competitions were organized for the students. As a result of this program, students took the initiative to place water bowls in their homes and school premises to protect birds, a matter of pride and inspiration.

An environmental awareness program on "The Contribution of Birds to the Environment" was recently held at the Government High School in Gundenahalli, Haveri District. Organized jointly by the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board and Sri Shivachidambara Education and Rural Development Institute, the event emphasized the vital role of birds in maintaining a clean ecosystem. The headmaster, Mr. S.B. Patteda, urged everyone to protect bird species, while Mr. Yogesh B. demonstrated ways to support birds through practical actions.

A joint awareness program on "The Contribution of Birds to the Environment" was recently conducted at the Government High School in Kottigere, Shiggaon Taluk, Haveri District, organized by the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, Bengaluru, and Sri Shivachidambara Education and Rural Development Institute, Shirol. The event was presided over by the headmaster, Mr. Praveen Jadhav, who emphasized the importance of birds and other creatures in maintaining a healthy environment. Mrs. S.B. Kagadgar provided detailed information about birds through practical demonstrations, and Mr. Shekhar Naik participated as the chief guest. Students shared their thoughts, and the program concluded with a vote of thanks by Triveni Goudar.

The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, Bengaluru, in collaboration with Sri Shivachidambara Education and Rural Development Institute, Shirol, recently organized an awareness program on "The Contribution of Birds to the Environment" at the Government High School in Masanakatti, Hanagal Taluk, Haveri District. The event was presided over by the headmaster, Mr. S.S. Patil, who emphasized the importance of protecting birds for future generations. Mr. Mallappa Hiriyappanavar, the SDMC President, spoke as the chief guest, and Mrs. Shakeelabanu Kagadgar provided detailed information about birds through practical demonstrations. The program concluded with students sharing their thoughts, and a vote of thanks by Praveen Basavangoudar.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, SERD, in collaboration with Sahabalve NGO, provided financial support by distributing Rs. 5,000 in cash to aid senior citizens in Gadag district. This initiative directly benefited 20 individuals, helping them through the challenging times.

Environment Awareness Event

In partnership with the Sri Channabasaveshwara Educational Society, SERD launched an educational initiative for schoolchildren in Bilur Village, Kittur Taluk, Belgaum District. The program focused on raising awareness about birds and their significance to the environment. The event featured presentations by resource person Sri Prakash Gowdar and Sri Chidambara Nimbargi, President of the NGO. Approximately 400 schoolchildren took part in the program.
